- These candles look nice when the light is off.
- The wax coating is a little more white than cream, but very attractive.
- The flicker effect is very nice.
- The candle emits light all the way from the top to about 2/3 down, instead of just at the top
- I like that this Inglow candle just shows a burnt wick that looks realistic when not lit.
- I like the vanilla scent, although it did strike me as a little artificial when I first opened the packaging. It mellowed nicely after being opened.
Cons:
- What bothers me is that the LED light emits an orange color, rather than a warm yellow. It doesn't resemble the color of a real candle flame at all.
- The top edge of the candle is perfectly level and squared off compared to how a candle would look if it had burned for while (with uneven, slightly rounded edges).
I have found the orange color to be a common problem among flameless candles and I bought several types to compare and hoped to find some that were more realistic in color.
The most realistic flame color in a flameless candle that I discovered is the Enjoy Lighting Flameless LED Candle Drip Timer Pillar Candle Beeswax. Another thing I like about the Enjoy candle is that it has a curved top edge with some candle wax drips down the side that look very realistic. However, it has the disadvantage of having three LEDs instead of one which is why it requires 4 AA batteries instead of 2. Another disadvantage is that the LEDs are exposed (although fairly deep inside the well of the candle so hard to see). A small disadvantage is that the light is concentrated at the top of the candle (the bottom 2/3 of the candle doesn't glow at all).
Overall, I strongly prefer the Enjoy brand that has 3 LEDs for a more realistic flame color. These are going to be returned!
